Route Planner

Availability: Route Planner is an active, installable add-on. Your team needs access to the plugin to open its page; editing routes and stops requires write permission.

Use Route Planner to organize one crew's stops for a day. A route is a dated plan with an ordered list of stops. It can be built from scheduled visits or assembled manually. This is separate from the visit schedule: a route helps your crew decide the order of travel and mark stops done.

Create a route

  1. Open Route Planner from the main navigation and choose the date.
  2. Select New route, enter a route name, and optionally add a starting address and notes. Save the route.
  3. Open Stops on the route, then select Add stop. Give the stop a label; you can also add a customer, address, ETA, and notes. Save it and repeat for the rest of the day.
  4. Use Move up or Move down to put the stops in the order your crew intends to visit them. A newly added stop starts at the end of the list.

If your visits are already scheduled, choose Build from visits instead. Select the date and optionally name the route or provide a starting address. This creates a new route with stops from that day's non-cancelled scheduled visits you can access, ordered by scheduled start time. It does not divide the stops by crew. If several crews have visits that day, remove the other crews' stops from this route before dispatching. Check the addresses, too. Building a route does not replace the original visit schedule; removing a route stop does not cancel its visit.

Track work on the route

A new route starts as Draft. Select Dispatch when the plan is ready for the crew, Start when work begins, then Mark done when the route is complete. The route can also be Cancelled after dispatch. Each stop has its own completion state: choose Complete stop (or Done) when finished, and Reopen stop if you marked it complete by mistake. Completing a stop is separate from completing its route or its scheduled visit.

The page shows the selected day's route count, routes on the road, completed routes, and total stops. Open a route to review individual stops; use the date picker to see another day. Team members without write permission can review routes but cannot create, reorder, complete, or delete them.

Correct or remove a plan

Edit a stop to correct its label, address, ETA, or notes. Remove stop deletes that stop from the route; the remaining stops move together in the order list. Delete route removes the route and its stops. Confirm the route name and day before deleting. Cancelling a route changes its status instead of deleting its stops.

If something looks wrong

  • No routes on the selected day: Check the date. Use New route or Build from visits if you have write access; building from visits depends on existing scheduled visits for that day.
  • A visit is missing from a newly built route: Check that the visit is scheduled on the selected day and is not cancelled. A route is a snapshot created when you select Build from visits; review it against the schedule before dispatching.
  • An action is unavailable: Ask your account administrator whether your role has Route Planner write permission. If the page reports a load error, use its Retry control rather than assuming there are no routes.
