DOT Compliance is intended for teams that need to keep driver, vehicle, and trip records organized for commercial fleet operations. The current Idea screen cannot record driver qualifications, hours of service, or vehicle inspections. Continue using your existing recordkeeping and compliance process.
When to consider this
If your business operates vehicles subject to DOT requirements, a future workflow might help you keep track of:
- Driver qualification records and who is responsible for reviewing them.
- Hours-of-service records and follow-up on missing or incomplete entries.
- Vehicle inspection records and issues that need attention.
These are planning areas, not available fields or a promise that the feature will determine whether your records meet legal requirements.
What to do now
- Keep using your established system for required driver, trip, and inspection records. Do not depend on the Idea screen for compliance or deadlines.
- Keep Team information current for the people who operate your vehicles.
